2004 For several years I was obssessed with creating an adaptation of Poe's THE FALL OF THE HOUSE OF USHER. During an extended period of frustration of working with live actors and special CG effects, I did this little toon version. I had even thought of completing a long version in this style.
TOON USHER
2006. This short sketch has some rather old image elements included in it. The video feedback and figure cuts date from the early 1980's. Even then I had a rough idea what the movie would be. BEYOND THE DREAM A painting demonstration A small portrait head, approximately 2 hours painting condensed to about 2 1/2 minutes. Check out the finished image on the figure gallery page. From 1969, this film started the Den saga. The inspiration was the idea or effect of transforming a live person into a drawing. My way of going into another world of 2d imagery. Neverwhere part 1 This is the animation I did before there were computers. The figures were drawn on tracing paper "cels". The underwater and subterranean sequences were drawn in negative and photographed on negative film. The color was added with gel filters. Neverwhere part 2 |
